Used to point out specific time :

  • bella was born at 07.30 AM.
Used to indicate a place:
  • I passed my holiday at Bali
Used to indicate an email address:
  • please email me at rans@gmail.com

In
Used for unspecific times during a day, month, season, year:
  • he always reads newspaper in the morning
Used to indicate a location or place
  • I live in Bandung
Used to indicate a shape, color, or size
  • Fera was dressed in white
Used to express while doing something:
  • i am in a hurry
Used to indicate a believe, opinion, interest, or feeling:
  • you look great in uniform

For
Used to indicate the use of something:
  • I cooked this delicious fried rice for Bella
Used to indicate time or duration:
  • he is going away for a few days
Used to mean because of:
  • the man was accompanied with bodyguards for security reason

Common Combination and Preposition

Verbs and prepositions are also used in common phrases. The verb generaly goes in front of preposition.
  • She worried about getting lost
  • We care about recycling things
  • We are thinking about joining them
Adjectives and prepositions are commonly used in phrases. The adjective usually goes before the preposition.
  • She is committed to improving he English
  • Rika was disappointed with coming in third place.
  • That actor is famous for being extremely weird

COMMONLY MISUSED  WORDS


Your, You're

- Your  is a possessive pronoun
- you're  is a contraction of you

  •   your book is on the table
  •  you’re a good friend


Loose. Lose

- Loose is the opposite of tight
- Lose is the opposite of win

  • I lose the game
  • He often wears jeans and loose shirt


Accept, Except
- Accept means to receive
- Except means to exclude

  • I didn't  accept  your invitation
  • I go to school everyday except sunday




Confusingly Related Words

Bored, Boring

- Bored refers to when someone feel bored
- Boring refers to something that is boring

  • I'm bored
  • The party is boring.


Hear, Listen

- Hear : A sound/noise comes into your ear without you making an effort
- Listen : when you pay attention and try to listen to sounds.

  • I can't hear anything because of the loud music.

Fit, Suit

- Fit  refers to size and shape. if your clothes fit you, they are neither too big nor too small.
- Suit  refers to style, colour, etc.
